Kelsey Law, LMHC
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing adult and adolescent counseling in Ballard. I treat clients struggling with relationships, emotional disturbance, depression and/or anxiety, trauma (past or present), family of origin concerns, and difficult life transitions.
My approach is relational and psychodynamic; this means I believe our unconscious mind and history of relational experiences shape the way we live and interact day to day. Together we will explore those patterns and the ways they have shaped you. An important part of the process is to create a safe, non-judgmental space for us to be curious about the landscape of your heart. It is here that we pay attention to ways you have struggled to live as your authentic self.
I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology and a Bachelors in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University. As part of my studies, I worked with youth and families in Uganda, Mozambique and Israel to cultivate culturally sensitive approaches to working with trauma. In addition to being a therapist, I enjoy working with and riding horses at Eagle Mountain Ranch in Smokey Point, Wa.
I provide in-person sessions and telehealth (when appropriate).
I currently do not bill insurance. I can provide you statement to use for potential reimbursement by your insurance.
