Claudia Correa, MA, LMHCA * Adults & Adolescents in English, Portuguese & Spanish
I AM PROVIDING TELE-HEALTH SESSIONS DURING THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK.
I am a Mental Health Counselor Associate working with adults and adolescents in Ballard. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients to achieve personal growth, wellness, self-knowledge, and to improve their emotional regulation and crisis management skills. I apply Psychodynamic Therapy along with evidence-based approaches to best meet my clients’ needs.
I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology (MACP) and a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentration in Psychology and Geography from Northwest University.
My training is in evidence-based therapies but my practice experience expanded to include Psychodynamic therapy. I have navigated with my clients through a range of issues including post-traumatic-stress-disorder, sexual assault and abuse, anxiety, gender identity, relationship concerns, mood disorders and religious faith crises. My client work has helped me understand what Arthur Ashe wrote in: “Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can”.
I was born and raised in Brazil and moved to the United States in 1997. Besides being a therapist, I am a wife and a mother, with a passion for history, arts, traveling, good food, wine, and coffee.
